Tuesday Night Run Around The Village

Before moving back to Pittsburgh, Joel + Anne were members of the Raritan Valley Road Runners in New Brunswick, NJ. That club has sponsored a group run every Wednesday since 1983. The Wednesday night group would have 10-20 runners of every age, pace and experience level - and then end at a local pub for a soda or a beer. It was always a terrific group of runners and we looked forward to every Wednesday night.

We thought Sewickley needed the same type of group. And that it would be fun to have a weekly meetup and invite some other folks to join us to get out of the house.

Starting with just three members—Joel, Anne, and Michael—our first group run took place on February 28, 2023. Since then, we've grown to welcome 10-15 participants each week, and we're excited to see our group continue to expand.

THE SCHEDULE:

Tuesday Night Group Run @ 6:30 PM

We'll get started at 6:30 sharp, so show up a little earlier - rain, shine, or snow.

HOW IT WORKS:

Every Tuesday night, we'll meet at the corner of Beaver Avenue & Broad Street with a map for either a 5-mile or 5K course option.

HOW WILL I FIND THE GROUP?

Look for the folks dressed in running clothes standing on the sidewalk.

DO I HAVE TO STAY FOR A DRINK?

Nope, there's no commitment to hang out. Get in your run and head out.

HOW FAR?

Both courses are loops - beginning and ending at the same location. If you're running the 5-mile course, you can cut out about a mile if you turn left on Broad Street instead of continuing down Thorn Street.

HOW FAST?

We run between a 9:00 and 10:00 minute mile, but we're all headed back to the same place, so run at your own pace.

RUN SAFE:

We're running on local roads, so best to wear some safety gear.
