SRC Kids Klub #2 — Special Wednesday Night Run
We’re excited to continue the SRC Kids Klub summer series — a fun, relaxed evening designed to help the next generation experience the joy of running with Sewickley Run Club. For our second Kids Klub event of the summer, we’ll keep things simple with a single 1-mile loop. Kids can choose to run one loop for 1 mile or two loops for 2 miles, making it easy for every runner to pick the distance that feels right. The night will be relaxed, encouraging, and fun, with kids logging their distance and celebrating every effort at the finish. Parents are welcome and encouraged to run or walk along. Popsicles will be waiting at the finish. Meet at the corner of Beaver & Broad at 6:30 PM by the gazebo. Let’s keep the Kids Klub summer rolling — one loop at a time.

Guest Bartender Night at Fermata Brewing
SRC will be behind the bar from 5:00–8:00 PM for a fun evening and club fundraiser. Fermata Brewing is generously donating all tips collected during the event to support SRC, so we need a BIG crowd to show up, hang out, and help make the night a success. Bring your friends, family, running buddies, neighbors, and anyone else who enjoys a good beer for a good cause. The more people we pack into Fermata, the more support we can raise for future SRC events. Come thirsty. Tip generously. Let’s make it a great night for SRC!

Steamtown Marathon
The Steamtown Marathon is a smaller race with a big reputation, especially for runners chasing a fast fall marathon. The course is USATF-certified, an official Boston Marathon qualifier, and well known for its net downhill profile from Forest City to downtown Scranton. Steamtown has earned its reputation as a strong Boston qualifying race — on average, 28% of finishers qualify for Boston. That does not mean it is easy, because downhill marathons can be sneaky on the legs, but it does make Steamtown a great target for runners looking for a well-run, point-to-point race with serious PR potential. A great Pennsylvania marathon option for SRC runners looking to race fast and chase a BQ.

Columbus Marathon
The Columbus Marathon is a great fall race option with a very cool course, strong race weekend energy, and a city that makes the trip easy to justify. Columbus is a fun town for a marathon weekend, whether you’re chasing a goal race, running the half, or just looking for a solid destination event with SRC friends. Anyone interested should give a shout on one of the SRC platforms. This feels like the kind of race where we could get a good crew to head out together.

Philadelphia Marathon
2026 SOLD OUT - The Philadelphia Marathon is one of my personal favorites and a race I highly recommend. I’ve run it a few times, and it delivers every time: a great course, strong crowd support, a well-run race weekend, and an awesome city to enjoy before and after the race. The 2026 race is already sold out, so I’m adding this to the SRC calendar now as a reminder for anyone who may want to plan ahead for 2027. For anyone looking for a late-fall marathon or half marathon, Philly is absolutely worth considering. This would be a great one for a crew.

Member Race Goals
Here's what SRC members are training toward. Send them some energy.

Tom Hay
Tom’s Marathon Goal
Tom has officially caught the marathon bug — and he is not exactly easing into it. Tom started running with SRC in June 2025 and ran the Columbus Half-Marathon in October 2025, which was his first half-marathon in over a decade. Tom ended up meeting his goal of maintaining a sub-7 minute pace in that race. He really enjoyed the process of setting an ambitious goal and training for it, so this fall, Tom has his sights set on the Erie Marathon, where he will take on his first-ever marathon with the goal of getting a Boston qualifying time right out of the gate. Tom is already deep into the training process, working with a local Pittsburgh run coach who puts together weekly training guides to build toward race day. That means the miles are stacking, the workouts are getting serious, and the goal is very real. Let’s get behind Tom as he works toward Erie and a big-time first marathon performance. First marathon. BQ goal. Full send. Hands together for Tom — we’re excited to follow the journey.

Ralph Courtemanche
Ralph’s World Marathon Majors Goal
Ralph has set his sights on one of the biggest goals in distance running: completing all of the Abbott World Marathon Majors. He has already checked Boston off the list, and now his race calendar is building toward the full journey: Tokyo, London, Cape Town, Sydney, Berlin, Chicago, and New York. That is a serious global running goal, and exactly the kind of effort worth celebrating along the way. This is more than a race list. It is a long-term commitment to training, travel, patience, and showing up again and again for the next starting line. As Ralph works toward each major, we will be cheering him on and following the progress. SRC is behind you, Ralph. One major down, seven to go.
